Bidiyya (also Bidiya and Bidiyah) is a small town with around 11,000 inhabitants in the Sultanate of Oman . Bidiyya is located in the eastern interior directly on the foothills of the Rimal Al Wahiba Desert and on the Route 23 highway . Bidiyya is administratively also a Wilaya of the Shamal al-Sharqiyya governorate . The administrative district has a size of 3625 km² and a population of 20,946 people. The city also includes the places Al-Mintarib and Al-Ghabbi, which are starting points for tours through the desert and also accommodate hotels. The city is known for several small fortresses such as Fort Al-Mintarib.
