Wadi Bani Chalid (also Wadi Bani Khalid , Arabic وادي بني خالد, DMG Wādī Banī Ḫālid ) is a village with a little less than 1000 inhabitants in the Sultanate of Oman . Wadi Bani Chalid is located in the eastern Hajar Mountains . Wadi Bani Chalid can only be reached from Route 23 via a winding mountain road. Wadi Bani Chalid is administratively also a Wilaya of the Shamal al-Sharqiyya governorate . The administrative district has a size of 874 km² and a population of 9,486 people.

The place and the administrative district are known for the Wadi Bani Khalid of the same name . The river has its source at 1700 meters in the Hajar Mountains and flows about 160 kilometers through mountainous canyon landscapes to the Gulf of Oman .
