Shamal ash-Sharqiyya
Shamal asch-Sharqiyya ( Arabic محافظة شمال الشرقية, DMG Muḥāfaẓat Šamāl aš-Šarqīya , roughly 'the northeast') is one of the eleven governorates of Oman. It was created in 2011 as part of a territorial reform of Oman, whereby the region of al-Sharqiyyah was divided into a northern and a southern part ( Dschanub al-Sharqiyyah ). Geographically, the southern part is in the east and the northern part in the west. Its capital is Ibra . The governorate is divided into the Wilayat Ibra, al-Mudaibi , Bidiyya , al-Qabil , Wadi Bani Chalid and Dima wa at-Tayyin .
