Shamal al-Batina ( Arabic شمال الباطنة, DMG Šamāl al-Bāṭina  'Nord-al-Batina') is one of the eleven governorates of Oman . It was created on October 28, 2011 through the division of al-Batina governorate into Shamal al-Batina (north) and Dschanub al-Batina (south).

The Shamal al-Batina region is 7,899.33 km², comprises 6 Wilayat and had 483,582 inhabitants at the 2010 census. The Wilayat are: al-Chabura , as-Suwaiq , Liwa , Saham , Shinas and the capital Suhar .
