Hanno Haag
Hanno Haag (born February 21, 1939 in St. Ingbert ; † May 6, 2005 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ) was a German musician and composer .
Life
Hanno Haag studied school music (majoring in violin ) at the Saarland University of Music and history and musicology at the Saarland University . In 1959 he and his future wife founded the Mannheim Chamber Duo. 1964/1965 he was concertmaster of the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester Mannheim, from 1965 he played in the orchestra of the Nationaltheater Mannheim . From 1976 until his retirement in 1998 he was a group leader for string instruments at the Mannheim City Music School. There he founded and directed the Mannheim Youth Symphony Orchestra, with which he undertook concert tours through Europe, Australia , the USA and Canada. He also directed the Capella Palatina and the chamber orchestra of the Mannheim Evening Academy .
As a composer, Haag created over 70 works for different instrumentations. In 1995 he was awarded the Johann Wenzel Stamitz Prize .
Haag was also active as a walker , so he was ninth in the German championships in 1974 in the 50 km walk and second with the team.
