Hanns Langendorff Medal

Under the name Hanns Langendorff Medal and Hanns Langendorff Prize , the Hanns Langendorff Foundation, based in Freiburg, together with the Association for Radiation Protection (until its dissolution with the German Society for Medical Radiation Protection ) in memory of Hanns Langendorff Awards in the field of radiation biology and radiation protection .

The invitation to tender for the Hanns Langendorff Prize (since 1979) is intended to "encourage young scientists at home and abroad [...] to continue working on radiobiological topics that are committed to radiation protection in the future". In addition, since 1992 the Hanns Langendorff Medal in silver has been awarded to "outstanding scientists who have made significant contributions in the field of radiation biology and radiation protection".
