Hanns Vanura

Hanns Vanura (* 1958 ) is an Austrian basketball official .

Life

Vanura played basketball at BBC Tulln from 1972, later he was still active in the senior men's area, taking part in the senior European championships and the company sports world championships.

In June 2003 Vanura was elected President of the Lower Austrian Basketball Association (NBBV). In 2007 he also took up the post of chairman of the Austrian Basketball Association (ÖBV), in 2012 Karl Thaller succeeded him in the office of ÖBV President, Vanura from now on fully concentrated on his tasks in the NBBV. In 2019 he resigned as President of the Lower Austrian Basketball Association and was named Honorary President of the NBBV.

In 2000 Vanura was awarded the ÖBV medal of honor in silver and in 2005 in gold. At the beginning of December 2018 he was awarded the gold sports official's honor. In 2019 he published Austria's basketball history (s) together with Manfred Schnurrer .
