Hans-Adolf Hedemann

Hans-Adolf Hedemann (born June 26, 1920 in Hanover ; † December 12, 1990 in Langensendelbach ) was a German geologist and professor .

Life

Hedemann graduated from high school in Goslar in 1938 and then studied geology in Breslau until 1940 , where he also became a member of the Corps Silesia , and then had to interrupt his studies due to the war. After the end of the war he studied first in Berlin and then in Clausthal . There he graduated in 1948 as a geologist and obtained his doctorate in 1950. rer. nat.

Hedemann began his professional life at DEA and then worked for Texaco until 1977 . In 1977 he moved from the private sector to become the leading director of the geology department in the Lower Saxony State Office for Soil Research in Hanover. There he was also a representative in commissions of the UN and the European Community .

In addition to his job, Hedemann published over 100 scientific papers in specialist journals. For this reason he was appointed honorary professor for petroleum geology at the University of Erlangen in 1972.

In 1986 Hedemann retired , but remained a consultant for crude oil and natural gas cavern storage facilities.
