Hans-Georg W. Voss

Hans-Georg W. Voss (born April 4, 1944 in Güstrow ) is a German non-fiction author and psychologist .

life and work

Hans-Georg W. Voss received his doctorate in 1972 from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz on the subject of investigations into the development of personality structures in childhood and adolescence.

From 1978 to 2009 Voss was a professor at the Institute for Psychology at the Technical University of Darmstadt . He researched and taught in the field of psychology (developmental psychology, motivational psychology, personality psychology and differential psychology, communication psychology, family psychology, forensic psychology) and devoted himself to topics of criminology. The main focus of the research was initially in the area of ​​the development of personality structures and motivational psychology (curiosity and exploration), from 2000 on the occupation with criminological topics, in particular stalking and domestic violence.

Voss is a founding member of the European Society on Family Relations (ESFR) and was its president from 2006 to 2008. In 2000 he founded the office for forensic psychology and court reports at the TU Darmstadt (today in Riedstadt near Darmstadt).
