Hans-Gerd Adler

Hans-Gerhard Adler (born August 23, 1941 in Heiligenstadt ) is a German CDU local politician . Adler was one of the initiators of the peaceful revolution in Eichsfeld .

Career

Adler completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk in Heiligenstadt from 1958 to 1961. In 1968 he made up his Abitur at the district adult education center in Heiligenstadt and between 1969 and 1973 he took a distance learning course to become an engineering economist. From 1968 to 1990 he worked as a business manager, accountant and internal auditor. From 1990 to 1992 he was head of the accounting, analysis, control and conception department for the privatization of the VEB into Solidor AG Heiligenstadt.

In 1967 he had taken on tasks in the church council of the St. Gerhard congregation in Heiligenstadt. In autumn 1989 he organized the peaceful revolution in Eichsfeld and became chairman of the speakers' council of the Democratic Initiative Heiligenstadt, which organized prayers for peace, Monday demonstrations and a human chain. In the first free local elections in 1990 he was elected to the district council of Heiligenstadt, of which he was a member and deputy president until 1994. He has been a member of the Heiligenstadt City Council since July 1999 and was elected deputy chairman in July 2004.

Hans-Gerd Adler is the press spokesman for the Schifflersgrund border museum .
