Hans-Jürgen Reulen

Hans-Jürgen Reulen (born September 20, 1936 in Laichingen ) is a German neurosurgeon .

Reulen studied medicine in Munich and was a neurosurgeon student of Kurt Schürmann . He was a professor at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and from 1991 head of neurosurgery. In 2001 he retired.

He also conducted research with Walter Brendel and with Igor Klatzo (1916–2007) at the National Institutes of Health .

Reulen dealt in particular with brain edema , surgery of low-grade astrocytomas , surgery in the motor cortex and language areas of the brain, and microanatomy.

In 2012 he received the Wilhelm Tönnis Medal . He was on the editorial board of Acta Neurochirurgica .
