Hans-Jürgen Schumacher (* 1957 in Greifswald ) is a German journalist and author.

Life

Schumacher did an apprenticeship as a bookseller in Greifswald and then carried out various activities in the cultural, journalistic and literary-journalistic fields. From 1988 to 1994 he worked as an editor and journalist, u. a. at the newspaper Der Demokratie . In 1989/90 he began distance learning at the "Johannes R. Becher" literature institute . He writes poetry, historical novels and crime stories.

From 2001 to 2018 Hans-Jürgen Schumacher acted as state chairman for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the Association of German Writers . He is also involved on a voluntary basis in social and church committees.

Since 2014, Hans-Jürgen Schumacher has been working as an author and editorial staff at MV – Verlag, editorial office for Vorpommernmagazin, based in Greifswald.
