Hans-Joachim Busch

Hans-Joachim Busch (born July 13, 1951 in Siegen-Wittgenstein ) is a German social psychologist and supervisor . In his scientific work he deals with a psychoanalytic approach in social psychology. It stands in the tradition of critical theory of the Frankfurt School .

Life

After studying sociology and philosophy in Frankfurt am Main, Hans-Joachim Busch received his doctorate in 1983 at the Faculty of Social Sciences at JW Goethe University under Alfred Lorenzer . After a brief activity as an educator, he worked from 1984 as a research assistant at the Sigmund Freud Institute (SFI) in Frankfurt am Main in the department for social psychology headed by Klaus Horn . In 1985 Klaus Horn passed away. Busch became the editor of Horn's collected works.

In 2000 , Hans-Joachim Busch completed his habilitation with his thesis on subjectivity in late modern society . A private lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Frankfurt followed. From 2004 to 2006, Busch held a professorship for sociology and social psychology in the above-mentioned department and had an Apl from 2007 until his retirement at the end of 2016. Professor of Sociology and Social Psychology with a focus on empirical educational research. Hans-Joachim Busch is a qualified supervisor and advises teams and individuals. One focus is the work with denominational institutions.

Services / main research areas

In his research, Busch mainly dealt with the theory and method of psychoanalytic social psychology, subject theory, political psychology and the psychoanalytic diagnosis of the present. His work also focused on supervision and organizational advice.

He is the editor of the collected works of the social psychologist Klaus Horn, who headed the social psychology department at the Sigmund Freud Institute and was professor at the University of Frankfurt. Busch has been the spokesman and managing director of the Political Psychology Working Group (DPWP) of the German Association for Political Science ( DVPW ) since 1985 .

With his work, Busch repeatedly contributes to the public discourse on current socio-political developments (“Social Psychology of Merkelism”).
