Heinrich Deserno

Heinrich Deserno (* 1945 ) is a German physician, specialist in psychotherapeutic medicine and psychotherapy , psychoanalyst and training analyst (DPV, IPA) and author of numerous specialist publications.

Deserno currently holds a professorship at the Psychoanalytic University in Berlin (IPU) in the clinical psychology / psychoanalysis course. There he is also the medical director of the psychotherapeutic university outpatient department. Until September 2010 he was at the Sigmund Freud Institute , Frankfurt / M. employed as a research assistant and also managed the outpatient clinic and depression clinic of the institute.

Research priorities

Heinrich Deserno researches the aspects of chronic depression and anxiety disorder in the context of psychotherapy research. He also deals scientifically with dreams. His focus is on dream experiences in connection with the psychotherapeutic process, on the context of dream and transference in the therapeutic setting, as well as researching dream series. Another area of ​​research concerns the aspects of theory building and concept criticism.
