Hans-Joachim Lenz (statistician)
Hans-Joachim Lenz (born July 31, 1942 in Berlin ) is a former German professor of data processing and statistics at the Institute for Production, Information Systems and Operations Research at the Free University of Berlin .
He completed his diploma in business administration in 1966 at the Free University of Berlin, where he received his doctorate in 1973. rer. pole. and completed his habilitation in 1976 with the venia legendi for statistics and operations research.
From 1978 to 2008 he was professor for data processing and statistics at the Free University of Berlin. He dealt with database systems and knowledge-based systems, semantic integrity and operational controlling of databases.
In 2007 Veit Köppen and Roland M. Müller published a commemorative publication on the occasion of Hans-Joachim Lenz's 65th birthday with the title Business Intelligence: Methods and Applications - Essays in Honor of Prof. Dr. Hans-J. Lenz .

Lenz is the author and publisher of over 350 books and articles on aspects of database systems, statistics, business intelligence and business informatics.
