Hans-Joachim von Buchka

Hans-Joachim von Buchka (* 1948 ) is an administrative lawyer and was Chancellor of the Bergische Universität in Wuppertal .

Life

Von Buchka studied law at the University of Bonn . He worked at the University of Dortmund from 1977 to 1988, where he headed several departments of the university administration. In 1988 he was appointed Chancellor of the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences . In 2001 he moved to the Bergische Universität Wuppertal as Chancellor and succeeded founding Chancellor Klaus Peters .

His successor as Chancellor was Roland Kischkel on October 1, 2009 , and von Buchka retired.

During his 32 years of work in and for university administrations, von Buchka was involved in various working groups that dealt with the topics of administrative modernization, data processing and financing models for universities. From 1994 to 2000 he was the spokesman for the university chancellors in North Rhine-Westphalia, worked in various national and cross-university working groups and was most recently chairman of the cross-national IT working group for university chancellors from 2006 to 2007.

Hans-Joachim von Buchka is the head of the Hofgärtner Hermann Sello family foundation , which looks after the private family cemetery of the Hermann Sello family (1800–1876) in Potsdam. Von Buchka is the great, great-great-grandson of Friedrich Ludwig Persius , a brother-in-law of the founder of the foundation.

As great-great-grandson of Hermann von Buchka , ghz. Mecklenburg-Schwerin State Councilor, he handed over the Buchka family archive to the archive of the University of Rostock in 2005 .
