Hans-Ludwig Grüschow

Hans-Ludwig Grüschow (born December 21, 1935 in Hamburg ) was Chairman of the Board of the Deutsche Sporthilfe Foundation from January 1, 1997 until his resignation on July 29, 2005 , of which he has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 1990. From 1994 to 1996 he was already the treasurer. After investigations by the Dresden public prosecutor's office on July 17, 2005, the suspicion arose that Grüschow was involved in the affair surrounding the former MDR sports director Wilfried Mohren . The proceedings were discontinued at the end of 2009.

Stations

As long-time managing director and later chairman of the board, the entrepreneur Grüschow, born in Hamburg in 1935, successfully floated the energy specialist Techem AG on the stock exchange in 1999. This was listed in the M-Dax from 2000 to 2007 . After studying and training as a textile technician, he joined the management of the Alsterhaus in Hamburg in 1965 after various activities for Karstadt, which at the time belonged to Hertie. Until 1983 he worked for the Hertie Group in various positions, from 1976 as a board member. From 1987 to 2003 Grüschow worked for Techem - most recently as Chairman of the Board of Management until 1999, then Chairman of the Supervisory Board until 2003.

Private

Hans-Ludwig Grüschow has devoted himself to the sport from his youth. In 1955 he was junior champion over 200 meter hurdles in Schleswig-Holstein, at Olympia Neumünster he played in the Oberliga field handball from 1953 to 1956. In his free time he plays tennis and jogging and has always remained a loyal supporter of HSV.

In addition to sport, Grüschow's music is Grüschow's second great passion: he was a member of the board of the Society of Friends of Bayreuth and is a member of the university council of the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. For his numerous voluntary services - in addition to his voluntary work in sport, in promoting culture, in training young people and for the World Wildlife Fund - he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit First Class in 1997 and was appointed honorary professor of the National Sports Academy “Vasil Levski” at Sofia University in 2002 .

Hans-Ludwig Grüschow is married to Gisela Grüschow and has two sons. He lives in Neu Isenburg near Frankfurt am Main.
