Hans-Michael Maertens

Hans-Michael Maertens (born March 18, 1939 in Kyritz ; † June 28, 2015 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 2002 to 2006 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .

Education and life

After graduating from high school in 1957, Hans-Michael Maertens studied at the Institute for Teacher Training in Potsdam from 1962 to 1966, and from 1968 to 1973 he did evening studies at the Plauen University of Applied Sciences . completed. From 1964 to 1966 he worked as a teacher, from 1966 to 1990 as a technologist and programmer at the iron and steel works in Thale .

Hans-Michael Maertens was married and had three children.

politics

Hans-Michael Maertens was city councilor and treasurer from 1990 to 1994 and mayor of the city of Thale from 1994 to 2001 . Since 2000 he has been a member of the local and district board of the CDU Thale. He was elected directly to the state parliament in the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt in 2002 in the state constituency of Quedlinburg (WK 32) with a share of the vote of 30.4 percent. In the state parliament he was deputy chairman of the finance committee and a member of the audit subcommittee.
