Hans-Peter Häfner

Hans-Peter Häfner (born April 3, 1938 in Schmalkalden ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Häfner attended elementary and high school in Schmalkalden. After graduating from high school, he did a preliminary internship and studied mining at the Bergakademie Freiberg . Häfner earned the title of graduate engineer for mining and civil engineering and received his doctorate as Dr. ing. He then worked in underground potash mining in the Werra potash combine . Since 1990 he has been a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Thuringia .

Häfner has been a member of the CDU since 1972, after becoming a city councilor in Vacha in 1970 . He was a member of this until 1977. In December 1989 he became deputy mayor of Vacha, the following year he became deputy district chairman in the Bad Salzungen district . Also in 1990 he was a member of the last people 's chamber and was then a member of the Thuringian state parliament until 1999. In 1994 he was elected to the district assembly of the Wartburg district. Until 2009 he was chairman of the Vacha city association for the CDU and a member of the city council and the district council.
