Hans-Peter Heekerens

Hans-Peter Heekerens (born August 16, 1947 in Mosbach ) is a German professor emeritus for social work / social pedagogy and pedagogy at the Munich University of Applied Sciences .

Life

Heekerens studied at the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg from 1967 to 1974 theology and 1971-1976 Psychology . In 1979 he acquired the Dr. theol., in 1990 at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg the Dr. phil. In 1994 he received his habilitation in clinical psychology from the University of Bremen . From 1976 to 1980 he worked at the psychological counseling center for education, partnership and life issues in Neckargemünd , from 1980 to 1981 as a research assistant at the child and adolescent psychiatry of the Free University of Berlin and from 1981 to 1984 as a research assistant at the psychological institute of the TU Berlin . In 1984 he was appointed professor for the newly created subject of social work / social pedagogy at the University of Munich. In 1994 the professorship was expanded to include the subject areas of social work / social pedagogy and pedagogy.

Services

Through practice and theory, Heekerens has contributed to establishing experiential education and family therapy as methods of social work and to making family research questions fruitful for social work . In 1986 he introduced experiential education as a subject area and at the same time implemented an experiential education laboratory at what is now the Faculty of Applied Social Science at Munich University of Applied Sciences. The subject of experiential education is taught there in the action-oriented modules methods of social group work and project practice.
