Hans-Peter Schütt
Hans-Peter Schütt (* 1951 , officially Hans-Peter Schütt-Groth ) was Professor of Philosophy at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences there as well as director of the Institute of Philosophy.
academic career
After graduating from the Katharineum in Lübeck in 1969, Schütt studied mathematics , philosophy and classical Greek philology at the University of Hamburg and graduated with a master's degree . From 1976 to 1977 he taught mathematics part-time at the Heidberg grammar school in Hamburg, before researching and teaching at the Philosophical Department of Heidelberg University as a research assistant, lecturer and university lecturer until 1994. Schütt received his doctorate in 1983. After his habilitation in 1992, several professorships and guest lectureships followed in Göttingen , Hamburg and Karlsruhe. In 1995 he was appointed to the University of Karlsruhe, where he retired in 2017. From 1995 to 2004 Schütt was Dean of Studies at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. In 1998 and 1999 he was also a visiting lecturer at the Philosophical Seminar of the University of Bern .
