Hans Alexy

Hans Alexy (* 1952 in Brake ) is a German judge and Vice President of the Higher Administrative Court of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen .

Alexy studied law at the Universities of Münster and Bremen . After completing his legal clerkship, he became a judge at the Bremen Administrative Court in 1981 ; since 1993 he has been a judge at the Bremen Higher Administrative Court. Since 1996 he has also been a lecturer at the University of Bremen, where he was appointed honorary professor in 2008 . From 2012 to 2017 he was Vice President of the Higher Administrative Court in Bremen.

He is also a long-time member of the court of the Bremen Evangelical Church and Bremen's state editor of the journal for public law in Northern Germany (NordÖR).

Hans Alexy is the brother of the constitutional law teacher and legal philosopher Robert Alexy .
