Hans Baumann (journalist)
Hans Baumann (* 1924 in Essen ) is a German business journalist .
Life
Baumann's father worked for Krupp . In his youth he was a successful boxer and athlete. He completed training as a businessman and was then drafted into the armed forces. He was wounded on the Eastern Front . After the Second World War, he attended the Helmholtz Gymnasium in Essen and completed his Abitur. In 1946 he was a volunteer at the daily newspaper Die Welt in Essen. He then studied economics at the University of Cologne and became a correspondent for the world. In addition, he worked for Welt am Sonntag , whose North Rhine-Westphalia section he was responsible for. He later became the head of the business department and the world representative for Europe.
