Hans Becker (doctor)

Hans Becker (* 1944 ) is a German psychiatrist , psychoanalyst and professor emeritus at the University of Heidelberg .

Becker studied medicine in Heidelberg until he received his doctorate in 1969 and completed his habilitation there in 1982. He taught as a professor of psychosomatic medicine and psychoanalysis at the University of Heidelberg at the Psychosomatic Clinic founded by Alexander Mitscherlich , and was chairman of the Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Heidelberg-Mannheim .

From a psychoanalytical point of view, Becker has repeatedly written articles on questions of contemporary history, e. B. on coming to terms with the past of Nazi medicine, on the 68 generation and on German reunification in 1989/90.
