Hans Boldt

Hans Boldt (born December 5, 1930 in Breslau ) is a German constitutional lawyer and political scientist .

Boldt received his doctorate in law from the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg in 1965 and completed his habilitation in 1971 at the University of Mannheim . In 1977 he co-founded the Association for Constitutional History . From 1983 until his retirement in 1996 he held a chair for political science at the University of Düsseldorf . From 1992 to 1993 he was the founding representative and one of the first lecturers at the law faculty.

Boldt's main research interests are German constitutional history , for which he wrote an introduction and a two-volume standard work as well as an edition, the system of government in the Federal Republic of Germany and the doctrine of the state in the Vormärz.
