Hans Christof Sauerländer

Hans Christof Sauerländer (born January 28, 1943 in Aarau ; † April 9, 2016 there ) was a Swiss publisher .

Sauerländer attended high school in his hometown. After graduating from high school, he studied law in Bern. After completing his studies with a licentiate in both rights (1969), he worked for various publishing houses in New York until 1971, before taking over the management of the company at Sauerländer.

Sauerländer was the owner and publisher of the Sauerländer publishing house from 1973 to 2001 . He managed the family business in the sixth generation until it was taken over by Cornelsen Verlag in 2001. Under his leadership, the publisher asserted its importance as one of the leading providers of German-language children's and youth literature and as a publisher of teaching materials.
