Hans Dietrich von Gemmingen (* 1516 ; † April 20, 1566 in Mühlhausen ) was the landlord in Heimsheim and Mühlhausen, and from 1551 to 1555 also in Weinfelden .

Life

He was a son of Otto von Gemmingen (1475–1558) and Maria Güß von Güßenberg from the Steinegg line of the barons of Gemmingen . From 1539 or 1540 he was married to Magdalena Mundpratt von Spiegelberg. In 1551 he acquired the dominion of Weinfelden from Mundpratt, but sold it back to Jakob Fugger in Augsburg in 1555. He inherited his father's property in Heimsheim and Mühlhausen.

Like his father, Hans Dietrich remained an old believer during the Reformation . Duke Christoph induced him to cede the parish of Heimsheim, which ultimately reformed the place. Hans Dietrich then took up residence in Mühlhausen, where he built Trutzluther Castle from 1551 to 1553.
