Hans Erbring

Hans Werner Erbring (born October 1903 in Coswig , Anhalt; † March 25, 1982 ) was a German chemist and university professor.

Erbring was an academic student of Wolfgang Ostwald . He received his doctorate in 1930 with a thesis "On the liquid-liquid segregation of sodium soaps of higher fatty acids with sodium sulfate and the relationships between these systems and the phase rule" and completed his habilitation in 1936 with "Studies on the spinnability of liquid systems".

He headed chemical research at Madaus for more than 20 years and was the first post-war chairman of the Colloid Society, which was newly founded in 1949, until 1967 .
