Hans Feßmeyer

Hans Feßmeyer (born February 8, 1886 in Kaiserslautern ; † March 15, 1956 in Grünstadt ) was a German educator, local researcher and author.

Live and act

He was the son of the urban taker Johannes Feßmeyer.

Hans Feßmeyer became a teacher and was a professor at the Grünstadt Progymnasium . With a strong interest in local history, he was involved in the Grünstadt Altertumsverein and from 1929 to 1934 co-edited the association's publication “Neue Leininger Blätter” , which contained numerous contributions by him. He published more than 100 local history works, including the book "Geschichte von Grünstadt" (1st edition 1936, 2nd edition 1939). The work "Der Stumpfwald bei Ramsen" published by him in 1956 was reissued in 1999.

In 1954 Feßmeyer was awarded the bronze medal of merit of the “Palatinate Society for the Advancement of Science” .
