Hans Fleisch

Hans Fleisch (born April 9, 1958 ) is a German lawyer . From January 2005 to January 2016 he was Secretary General of the Federal Association of German Foundations .

Life

After studying general at the Leibniz-Kolleg Tübingen, Hans Fleisch completed his law studies in Tübingen and Göttingen. From the winter semester 1977/78 to the winter semester 1978/79 he was in Tübingen in the Corps Suevia and active in university politics. From 1977 to 1988, Fleisch worked at the advanced training center for students and pupils FWS eV and other educational institutions as a seminar leader and speaker in adult political education. He began his professional career from 1983 to 1985 as a research assistant at the chair for public law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen . Subsequently, he was secretary of the media commission of the federal states for two years parallel to his legal traineeship. In 1987 he received his doctorate as Dr. jur. in constitutional law. In 1988 he was admitted to the bar and assistant to the board at Allianz Lebensversicherungs-AG , where he headed the corporate customers department from 1990 to 1992.

From 1992 to 2003, Fleisch was managing director of the German Foundation for World Population , based in Hanover, which was established by the entrepreneurs Dirk Rossmann and Erhard Schreiber at the end of 1991 . In March 2003 he moved to Brussels / Washington as managing director of the SUPPLY initiative. Before Fleisch was appointed managing director of the Federal Association of German Foundations and the German Foundation Academy in 2005, he was a member of the management team at the Volkswagen Foundation in 2004 as head of the finance and administration department .

In other offices and functions, Fleisch represented the Federal Association of German Foundations, u. a. in the advisory board of the series of events “Hamburg Days of Foundation and Non-Profit Law”, in the coordination committee of the Federal Network of Civic Engagement , in the German Cultural Council and in the German Art Council. In September 2009 the University of Hildesheim awarded him an honorary professorship. From 2012 to 2014 he was one of the three spokespersons for the “Alliance for Charity” of German umbrella organizations of non-profit organizations.

Since 2012 he has been a member of the KfW Advisory Committee for the Financing of Social Enterprises and the Supervisory Board of the National Institute for Science Communication . Since 2014 he has been a shareholder representative of vph GmbH & Co KG, which belongs to the IGEPA group.

Fleisch volunteers in various foundations and associations. This included u. a. from 1994 to 2000 member of the board of the international organization Population Communication International, PCI, New York and 1998–2002 of the Falk von Reichenbach Foundation for Trauma Research and from 2000 to June 2013 member of the board of the CinemaxX Foundation. In 2000 he co-founded the Berlin Institute for Population and Development Foundation and was its chairman until November 2006. Fleisch has been an elected member of the General Assembly of the German Committee for UNICEF since 2007 . In 2011 the board of directors of Transparency International - Germany elected him to the advisory board.

In July 2015, Fleisch announced that he would give up his position as Secretary General of the Federal Association of German Foundations at the beginning of 2016 and move to the Lipoid Foundation in Ludwigshafen in April 2016. In October 2015, Fleisch took over the chairmanship of the board of trustees of the Heinz Trox Foundation in Neukirchen-Vluyn.

On September 1, 2015, Hans Fleisch was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .

Hans Fleisch is married and has three children.
