Hans Günther Hellwege

Hans Günther Hellwege (born April 28, 1927 in Harsefeld , † February 11, 1994 in Lüneburg ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Hellwege grew up in Harsefeld and attended the secondary school in Buxtehude . From 1943 until the end of the Second World War he served as an anti-aircraft helper and received training in the air force. After graduating from high school in 1946 at the State Athenaeum in Stade, he completed an apprenticeship in the motor vehicle trade and passed the journeyman's examination in 1948. He also passed master craftsman exams as a plumber (1954), gas and water plumber (1956) and central heating and ventilation construction craftsman (1969). From 1954 to 1976 he ran a retail business as an independent entrepreneur with an attached craft business.

Hellwege joined the CDU in 1970. He was first councilor of the community and in 1972 became mayor of the Harsefeld area, and from 1972 to 1980 he was mayor of the Harsefeld community . He became head of the Altes Land water supply association and a member of the general assembly of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the Elbe-Weser region. From 1972 he was also a member of the district council and member of the district committee and from 1976 to 1982 deputy district administrator of the district of Stade .

Hellwege was from June 21, 1978 to June 20, 1986 member of the Lower Saxony state parliament (9th and 10th electoral terms) for the Bremervörde constituency.

He was married and had five children.
