Hans Gasser (politician, 1937)

Hans Gasser (born September 21, 1937 in Gendorf, Baldramsdorf municipality ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer . Gasser was a member of the Austrian Federal Council from 1979 to 1983 and a member of the National Council from 1986 to 1990 .

Life

After compulsory schooling, Gasser attended an agricultural middle school and studied between 1962 and 1966 at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, where he completed his studies with the academic degree Dipl.-Ing. completed. From 1967 to 1969 he worked as a contract employee in the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and in 1969 took over his parents' farm and restaurant business.

He works as a half marathon runner.

politics

From 1969 to 1974 he was district party secretary of the ÖVP Carinthia.

Gasser was a local councilor of the ÖVP in Baldramsdorf between 1973 and 1983 and in 1974 took over the function of district chairman of the Carinthian farmers' union in Spittal an der Drau . He was also a member of the Carinthian state parliament between 1975 and 1979 and from 1976 a member of the plenary assembly of the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry in Carinthia. Gasser represented the federal state of Carinthia from October 29, 1979 to June 30, 1983 in the Federal Council and was then a member of the National Council from December 17, 1986 to August 1, 1990.
