Rudolf Gurtner

Rudolf Gurtner (born August 11, 1927 in St. Georgen near Obernberg am Inn ; † September 16, 2019 ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer . Gurtner was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1977 to 1988 .

Life

After attending compulsory school, Gurtner completed an agricultural training school and the Otterbach Agricultural Technical School , completing his training with the agricultural master craftsman's examination. He took over his parents' farm in 1956 and subsequently worked as a farmer.

politics

In the political field, Gurtner became involved as ÖVP local party chairman from 1967 and in 1972 took over the function of ÖVP district party chairman in the Ried im Innkreis district . In addition, from 1973 he was district chairman of the Upper Austrian farmers and smallhouses association Obernberg, from 1976 federal chairman of the Austrian machine rings and from 1979 chairman of the Geinberg dairy cooperative. Gurtner represented the ÖVP in the National Council from September 21, 1977 to October 14, 1988.
