Otto Keller (politician, 1926)

Otto Keller (born August 27, 1926 in Vils ; died June 28, 2018 in Vils) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer . Keller was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1979 to 1990 .

After elementary school, Keller attended the agricultural vocational school and from 1942 to 1943 the Imst agricultural school. In 1964 he passed the agricultural master's examination. He was employed in his parents' farm from 1947 to 1959 and took over the business in 1959. He was awarded the professional title of Economics Council.

Keller began his political career in local politics and in the farmers' union. From 1948 to 1960 he was local farmer in Vils and from 1956 a member of the local council. In 1959 he was elected mayor. From 1960 to 1963 he was also deputy regional chairman of the young farmers, from 1966 deputy district chairman of the Tyrolean farmers' union and between 1967 and 1981 chairman of the district chamber of agriculture for the Reutte district. In addition, from 1967 he held the function of a councilor of the regional chamber of agriculture for Tyrol, was a member of the board of the Tyrolean municipal association from 1968 and from 1978 to 1984 district farmer chairman of the Tyrolean farmers' association in the Reutte district . Keller represented the ÖVP from June 5, 1979 to November 4, 1990 in the National Council.
