Hans Heigl

Hans Heigl (born September 25, 1921 in Steyr ; † April 27, 2002 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and materials tester. Heigl was a member of the National Council from 1979 to 1983 .

After attending compulsory school at Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG, Heigl learned the trade of fitter and plumber and worked as a technical draftsman. He completed his Matura in an evening school and later worked as a work planner and materials tester. At Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG he also worked as chairman of the central works council, and from 1961 he was also a local councilor in Steyr. Heigl was also active in the metal-mining-energy union and a member of the state party executive of the SPÖ Upper Austria. Heigl represented the SPÖ between 1973 and 1979 in the Upper Austrian Landtag , after which he was a member of the National Council from June 5, 1979 to December 12, 1983.
