Hans Hetzel (politician)

Hans Hetzel (born October 13, 1870 in Klopfhof near Bartenstein , † June 24, 1949 in Nuremberg ) was a German politician (economic party).

Hetzel attended elementary school from 1877 to 1885 . He then completed an apprenticeship as a blacksmith and worked in agriculture until 1889. From 1889 to 1898, Hetzel traveled on German and English ships to Europe , Brazil, the west coast of South America , Mexico , North America and Africa . He later settled in Nuremberg. In 1901 he founded a grocery, wood and coal business there.

In later years Hetzel was active in economic policy and founded several retail trade organizations. Among other things, he was a co-founder of the South German Coal Traders Association. In 1912 he joined the middle class movement. For this, Hetzel took over the management of the Mittelstandszeitung , a monthly periodical, the circulation of which finally reached 10,000 copies. In 1924 the Mittelstandszeitung was converted into a daily newspaper and renamed the Nürnberger Bürgerzeitung . Hetzel remained managing director.

In 1922, Hetzel became a member of the Nuremberg City Council . In the same year he and fourteen small hauliers founded a transport company with an official burial house. In November 1922, this was converted into a stock corporation under the name Bayerische Transport- und Lagerhaus AG, Official Goods Best Office Nuremberg-Südbahnhof . Hetzel, who had also been running a manufacturing business since 1924, sat on the company's supervisory board from then on.

As a member of the Reichspartei des Deutschen Mittelstandes (Economic Party ), Hetzel was elected to the Reichstag in 1924 , to which he initially belonged from May to December 1924. In the elections of December 1924 he failed with his candidacy. In return, he was able to return to parliament in May 1928 on his party's proposal for a Reich election, which this time he belonged to until September 1930.
