Hans Ilau

Hans Ilau (born October 14, 1901 in Charlottenburg near Berlin ; † May 4, 1974 ) was a German politician ( FDP ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament .

Life

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1920, Hans Ilau studied law and political science at the University of Berlin and graduated in 1924 with a doctorate. He then worked as an economic policy advisor for the United German Machine Establishment in Berlin, as a scientific assistant in the Reich Ministry of Economics and later as an economist at various banks. With the seizure of power by the Nazis, he was in July 1933 by the Gestapo prison. From 1933 to 1943 he was the trade editor of the Frankfurter Zeitung . From 1945 to 1947 he was managing director of the Frankfurt am Main Chamber of Commerce . He then worked as a state-appointed administrator of the Rhein-Main-Bank , which he managed until the Dresdner Bank was restored.

politics

Until 1952 he was chairman of the FDP Federal Economic Policy Committee. From December 1, 1946 to November 30, 1950 he was a member of the Hessian state parliament for the LDP .
