Hans Jürgen Wildberg

Hans Jürgen Wildberg (born April 12, 1950 in Flensburg ) is a German lawyer and former district administrator .

education

After graduating from high school, Wildberg studied law in Kiel , Lausanne and Chicago . First state legal examination in 1974 at the OLG Schleswig; Legal clerkship in Schleswig-Holstein with an optional station at the Administrative College Speyer (now: German University for Administrative Sciences Speyer); Major state examination in 1979 at the Hamburg Higher Regional Court. At the University of Chicago in 1975 he received an LL.M. , and at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel, Wildberg received his doctorate in 1978. iur. with a dissertation on the International Seabed Authority at the Institute for International Law (now: Walther Schücking Institute for International Law ).

Professional background

After completing his studies, Wildberg was a lecturer in German public law at the Center for European Governmental Studies (now: Edinburgh Europa Institute) at the University of Edinburgh from 1979 to 1981 . From 1982 to 1990 Wildberg worked as a consultant for maritime transport in the Federal Ministry of Transport with stations in Hamburg and Bonn, and from 1983 to 1988 as a transport attaché at the Permanent Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany to the European Communities in Brussels. In 1990 Wildberg was elected (independent) by the district council for 8 years as district administrator of the Stormarn district in Schleswig-Holstein . After the introduction of direct election of the district administrators in Schleswig-Holstein, which has since been reversed, he did not run for re-election in 1998. From 1999 to 2006, Wildberg worked as a visiting professor for comparative constitutional and administrative law in the Baltic Sea Council's EuroFaculty project on the reform of law courses in Estonia , Latvia , Lithuania and Kaliningrad . The University of Latvia in Riga awarded Wildberg an honorary doctorate in 2003 .
