Hans Jung (lawyer)

Hans Jung (* 1944 ; † October 26, 2009 ) was a German lawyer and Chancellor of the Court of First Instance of the European Communities based in Luxembourg .

Jung studied law and was first assistant and later assistant professor at the Law Faculty of the Free University of Berlin . He worked as a lawyer in Frankfurt am Main . At the Court of Justice of the European Communities , he was a legal translator and legal adviser to its President Hans Kutscher and assistant chancellor of the Court of Justice. From October 10, 1989 to October 5, 2005, Jung was the first registrar of the Court of First Instance of the European Communities. He was succeeded by Emmanuel Coulon .
