Hans Kraft

Hans Martin Kraft (born May 7, 1947 in Ratingen ) is a German politician and former member of the state parliament ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary and secondary school , he completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Schloemann AG (today: Schloemann Siemag ). He then worked as a commercial clerk. After a two-year stay abroad as a young businessman at the general agency of Schloemann in the USA, he passed the state-certified translator examination, obtained his university entrance qualification at the Riehl-Kolleg in Düsseldorf, studied philosophy and English in Düsseldorf, Zurich, Bielefeld and Cologne and obtained the Graecum and Hebraicum. He passed the first and second state examinations for teaching at grammar schools and received his doctorate in May 1980. From 1980 he worked in the school service and taught philosophy, English and Biblical Hebrew. He is a lecturer for rhetoric and presentation technique at the Hochschule Düsseldorf / University of Applied Sciences.

At the beginning of 2016, Kohlhammer Verlag, Stuttgart, published his book "Rhetoric and Conversation" in the Bachelor Basics series.

Kraft is a member of the Toastmasters and has reached the highest level of ACG (Advanced Communicator Gold) in the field of free speech.

Kraft has been a member of the SPD since 1973. He was active in numerous party bodies. He is also a member of the Ver.di union and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt .

MP

From May 30, 1985 to June 2, 2005, Kraft was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was directly elected four times in a row in the constituency of Ratingen / Heiligenhaus. Kraft has always given his numerous speeches in the state parliament on sports policy and science and research freely, without any notes or other aids.

He was also a member of the city council of Ratingen.

Honors

After being awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon by the Federal Republic of Germany, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 2004.

Kraft is Honorary President of the National Squash Association of North Rhine-Westphalia.
