Hans Lampen (* 1923 in Dorsten ; † 14 May 2005 ibid) was a politician ( CDU ) and long-time mayor of Dorsten . In 1986 he was made an honorary citizen by Dorsten. In 1974 the Federal President awarded him the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon, in 1981 he received the Order of Merit, 1st Class .

Life

Hans Lampen was born in Dorsten-Hardt in 1923 . He was a trained surveyor. After the Second World War he was taken prisoner by the Soviets, from which he was released in 1946 in poor health. He then worked at the Fürst Leopold mine until his professional retirement in 1978 as a surveying driver and was part of the works council.

Parallel to his professional life, he was politically active. He joined the CDU in 1952 and became chairman of the Junge Union in Dorsten. In 1956 he became a council member. From 1964 to 1984 he was mayor of the city of Dorsten.
