Hans Ludwig Freytag (born August 21, 1934 in Berlin ; † January 10, 1993 ) was a German university professor and politician ( FDP / CDU ).

Life

Freytag attended the school in Berlin, Beverstedt, Bremerhaven, Essen and Trier, among others. He passed his Abitur in 1955 and began studying economics and law in Freiburg and Kiel. In 1959 he became a graduate economist and in 1960 began to work as a research assistant at Heidelberg University . In 1965 Freytag was promoted to Dr. rer. pole. PhD . In 1971 he completed his academic career with a habilitation in statistics and population science. From 1971 to 1974 he was managing director of HIS GmbH in Hanover.

He then became professor for empirical social research and statistics at the University of Oldenburg . There he was engaged in scientific research, especially the innovation behavior of small and medium-sized companies. His focus was regional research and research on medium-sized companies.

politics

Freytag joined the FDP in 1978. He was deputy district chairman as well as a member of the local and district executive committee of the FDP and economic policy spokesman for his party.

Since 1981 he has been a councilor in the community of Großenkneten , where he was deputy chairman of the FDP council group. He was chairman of the planning committee and a member of several council committees.

Freytag was elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament in the tenth electoral term and was a member of it from June 21, 1982 to June 20, 1986. He was in the FDP parliamentary group until October 23, 1984, but left the parliamentary group on October 24, 1984. On November 8, 1984, Freytag became a member of the CDU parliamentary group.
