Hans Meyer (medic, 1900)

Hans Meyer (born May 19, 1900 in Lindern , Geilenkirchen district , † September 26, 1962 in Koblenz ) was a German doctor and ministerial official.

Career

Meyer received his license to practice medicine on December 1, 1925. From 1933 (or 1934?) He was head of the internal department of the Evangelisches Stift St. Martin hospital in Koblenz.

From 1947 to March 31, 1951, he was head of the health department of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and later of the Ministry of the Interior, of the State of Rhineland-Palatinate. On April 1, 1947, he was appointed to the Ministerialrat, citing the civil service as an honorary officer. For four years he was chairman, then managing director of the working group of health officials of the ministries of the federal states.

In 1947 he was elected President of the Koblenz Medical Association. He was a representative of the German Tuberculosis Society and chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Health Council.

Honors

For his services, which he made in the first years of the development of the health system in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate after the Second World War, when he was also running the health department on a voluntary basis in addition to his work as an internist at the Protestant hospital in Koblenz, he was appointed to the Awarded the Cross of Merit (Steckkreuz) of the Federal Republic of Germany.
