Hans Neumerkel

Hans Georg Neumerkel (born March 4, 1886 in Meerane ; † January 23, 1946 in special camp No. 1 Mühlberg ) was a German judge .

Life

After graduating from the Nikolaischule in Leipzig in 1904, he studied law at the Universities of Lausanne and Leipzig. During his studies in Leipzig (Michaelmas 1904 to Easter 1908) he became a member of the Leipzig University Choir of St. Pauli in Mainz ( German Choir ). In 1910 he received his doctorate in Leipzig . In 1912 he became a Saxon court assessor. In 1917 he came to Oelsnitz as a district judge. In 1920 he was transferred to Hohenstein-Ernstthal . In 1929 he was promoted to the higher regional judge. In 1936 he came to the Imperial Court in Leipzig. He was active in the 2nd Civil Senate . Married and father of two children, neither of whom survived the Nazi era . Murdered in 1946 in "Special Camp No. 1" by the Soviet occupiers.

He was a member of the Academy for German Law .
