Hans Oldag
Hans Hugo Carl Albert Oldag (born March 2, 1901 in Lübenheen , † August 1978 in North Tonawanda , New York) was a German-American athlete.
Oldag was a German blacksmith who emigrated to the United States in 1927 and joined the Buffalo Oriole Club . In 1930 he led a third of the distance in the Boston Marathon , but then fell back to 57th place. In 1932 he took 15th place. A month later, he qualified for the Los Angeles Olympics in a marathon in Maryland . At the Olympic marathon he finished eleventh. After the Olympics he struck a professional career under the name Buffalo Boy .
In 2002 a sports hall in his place of birth was named after him.
