Hans-Peter Motzfeldt-Kyed (born April 16, 1975 in Qassimiut , Greenland ) is a handball player from Greenland and was the captain of the Greenland national handball team for many years .
Career
The nephew of the former Prime Minister of Greenland Jonathan Motzfeldt learned to play handball at Kissaviarssuk. His professional career began with the Icelandic club FH Hafnarfjörður . From the summer of 1995 Motzfeldt played for a total of six seasons with the Austrian club A1 Bregenz , with which he won the Austrian Cup in 2000 and the championship in 2001. In 2001 the Greenlander joined the Danish first division club Frederiksberg IF , with whom he took part in the EHF Challenge Cup. In 2002 he moved to Germany in the 2nd handball league for TV Gelnhausen . After two years in Gelnhausen , Motzfeldt moved to Denmark in 2004, where he works as a teacher in a nature kindergarten . At the same time he played in Sweden at IFK Trelleborg Handboll in the highest Swedish league. From 2007 he was under contract with the Danish club AG Håndbold . He left this club in the summer of 2010. In the meantime he has said goodbye to professional handball and plays for Greve Håndbold in the fourth Danish league ( 3rd division ).
Motzfeldt was one of only two professional handball players in Greenland's squad for the 2007 handball world championship and was considered the playmaker of Greenland.

Hans Peter Motzfeldt-Kyed was in a relationship with the Greenlandic singer Julie Berthelsen for five years .
