Hans Schmid (Author)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hans Schmid (* 1925 in Tübingen ; † 2008 ) was a German author who published several books under the pseudonym Haschmi . He set up the samizdat workshop and later the typescript workshop in Tübingen, where he was a small publisher and book maker (samizdat is Russian for self-publishing).

tutti frutti

Hans Schmid was an active participant in the Tübingen student movement in the 1960s and in his book tutti frutti he describes as the author Haschmi above all his time as an old 68er in Tübingen. The author has incorporated a number of leaflets and letters to the editor that he wrote and distributed himself at the time. The book has about 300 pages and is unique to the alternative culture of the 1968 movement . This is a self-written book with a self-made red cut , 28 × 21 cm.

Haschmi has also published some poems in the book that show the search and struggle for a just world and society, some of them in the manner of Rainer Maria Rilke . In between he quotes a few pages from Jean H. Hagstrum : The rhetoric of fear and the rhetoric of hope . The book is adorned with the glued-in symbols of this generation of protest with their own aesthetic in pictures and words: Protest against the nuclear power plant in Wyhl, against sexuality and beautiful women. Haschmi proves to be an articulate fighter for his program. As an idealist, Hashmi dared to say what others thought but dared not say.

In a report on the third mini-press fair in Mainz in 1974, the Wiesbadener Kurier reported on tutti frutti : “A kind of sensation at this small fair is Haschmi, or Hans Schmid from Tübingen, with his nix book, cabbage and beet book, ´Noch Uncollected works in a hasty volume '- these are handcrafted unique items, with stripped texts, glued in found images, photos, advertisements, etc., everything homemade, small works of art already. "
