Hans Stangl (born March 8, 1888 in Munich ; † September 25, 1963 there ) was a German sculptor and academy professor .

Hans Stangl, father of the Munich gallery owner Otto Stangl , studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich from 1916 , after which he was trained by the sculptor Ignatius Taschner in Berlin . From 1939 to 1943 he headed the German Academy in Rome . He has created several well-known sculptures for the public area of ​​the city of Munich. Around 1955, Stangl designed around 20 porcelain figures for the Rosenthal company .
