Hans Ulbricht is a former German soccer coach. In 1950 he briefly coached the later GDR championship team of ZSG Horch Zwickau and, until 1952, the GDR upper division Motor Dessau and various second division teams in GDR football .

Coaching career

In January 1950, Hans Ulbricht took over the training of the team from ZSG Horch Zwickau, which was one of the founding members of the newly introduced GDR league . The Zwickau had come third in the GDR Cup competition in 1949 through the back door in the top division of East German football. First, the team was trained by Friedrich Müller , who led the Zwickau to second place in the table until the winter break. Then Müller left the ZSG Horch and Hans Ulbricht was appointed as the new trainer. He looked after the team for seven match days. Although the Zwickau were at the top of the league table after the 20th matchday, Hans Ulbricht was replaced by Herbert Melzer , who finally made the Zwickau champions. Ulbricht was allowed to stay as a fitness trainer until the end of the season.

For the 1950/51 season, Hans Ulbricht went to the second division mechanics Jena . There, too, he was replaced by other coaches during the season, including the later master maker Hans Carl . In the following season he took over the upper division Motor Dessau . After the team had lost three point games in a row in February and March 1952 and approached the relegation zone, Ulbricht was deposed as coach in mid-March. For the rest of the season he trained the GDR league team from Chemistry Großräschen . After that, no further coaching stations in higher-class football were known.
