Hans Wichary

Hans Scott Wichary (born October 18, 1962 in Long Beach , † May 8, 2004 in Santa Ysabel ) was an American - German basketball player .

Life

Wichary, whose father emigrated from Germany to the United States in 1961 , played basketball and tennis at University City High School in San Diego . From 1980 to 1984 Wichary studied at Stanford University and stood for their basketball team in 86 games on the field, in which the 2.05 meter tall indoor player scored an average of 6.8 points and 4.4 rebounds.

After completing his business studies, Wichary went to Germany and played there from 1985 to 1989 as a professional at BSC Saturn Cologne, OSC Bremerhaven, Göttingen and Ludwigsburg. In 1987 he took part as a player in SpVgg 07 Ludwigsburg in the first all-star game of the basketball league and won the three-way competition.

After returning to the United States, the father of two daughters worked in the telecommunications sector and successfully played tennis in senior competitions in California . He died in a bicycle accident at the age of 41.
